Christmas Time

It seems this time of the year is filled with merriment, joy, and good tidings. Everyone smiles more often, there is a bounce in people's steps, and stores are full. Amidst all of the festivities the truth of the situation is seen. One must be careful to look, and closely, because the reality is neatly disguised in a variety of masks. Christmas is the great escape for most. An escape from university work, an escape from the pain of hard home situations, an escape from diets plauging the conscience (and boy do i need a diet!). What is the truth? People are in pain. Their own sin blinds them to the reality that Christ is meaning, not the gifts given and received. Sadly, even our christian culture has bought into this. May we show people how great Christ is by not conforming to the pattern of this world.

Todder, I would've been able to just say "true" and leave it at that, except for one thing: if you need a diet, where does that leave the rest of us?

Frig, Todd - now I feel compelled to go throw up in a toilet.

That said, regardless of how commercialized and prostituted this holiday has become and the reasons for that happening; let's celebrate it as it is meant to be: as the non-biblical feast day we stole from the Catholics, who stole it from the pagans... hmm... maybe it's not quite as bad as we thought... let's start a new holiday and call it "A Celebration of the Person of Christ" and leave it at that. Just a thought.

My dear Todd, I fear you are backsliding...

You see, it has been 14 days since you last blogged. This is disheartening. I understand how it's easy for a new blogger to slip back into the anti-blogging ways. But don't give up! Blog like you've never blogged before!

ps - I'm blogging for ya...we all are!
